Canvas-style, press stud, nothing precious. A tote that expects to be dropped on a bench.
Grain leather with brass hardware, and reversible, so one belt gets to age two ways.
Padded black leather, touch-strap, flat rubber sole. The sensible slide, with a little give.
Blue hammered calfskin, small metal Gancini. A card holder that darkens toward ink with handling.
Soft calfskin, snap strap, three gusseted compartments. Pocket-sized, and built to take the creases.
Parchment tumbled leather, calf-lined. Bone-coloured and quiet; it will pick up a tan.
Jack disagrees: “Two Fendi slides, bone and brown. A slide is a summer shoe; where's the weight?”
Dark brown tumbled leather in tobacco territory. Scuffs here will read as character.
A small linen tote that will crumple pleasantly and never pretend otherwise.
Cotton canvas, visible stitching, leather trim. Extra large, so it can take the bread and the books.
Jack disagrees: “A canvas tote is a bookshop bag. Why does this one need a famous name?”
A minimalist leather slide with no logo to age out of. Pairs well with a creased linen trouser.
Plain canvas, plain lines. The bag is plain so the walk doesn't have to be.
Jack disagrees: “Plain canvas, plain lines, and the fifth tote on this list. Pick one.”
Goatskin, brass hardware, hand-braided handles with waxed cord. Hardware that should warm and dull nicely.
Jack disagrees: “Le City is a recognisable bag first, a hard-wearing object second. Where's the unhurried part?”
