Weight & Linen

Weight & Linen gathers objects that ask very little and reward patience. Linen creases, brass dulls, leather darkens toward tobacco and ink, and a wool throw settles into the arm of a chair. Nothing here is precious. Everything is built to be used, handled and dropped on a bench, and to look better afterwards.

Some things ask very little and reward patience. This week is about things that get better with weight: linen, brass, leather, wool. Nothing precious.

Dark blue linen. Buttoned up, or open over bone trousers. Let it crease.

Light beige, classic cut. The creases are the point, and they'll oblige.

Grain leather, brass hardware. Reversible, so one belt gets to age two ways.

Citrus peel, eucalyptus, soft woods. A window opened in a room of linen.

Wool with a fringed edge. For the arm of a chair, and years of naps.

The rest of the exhibition is on Shopience. Stay a while. It gets better.

I The Linen Rail

Flax, navy and taupe, cut to crease and meant to.

II The Hall Table

Leather, canvas and brass, set down by the door.

III The Open Window

One candle, lit to let some air into the room.

IV The Armchair

A wool throw, and nowhere else to be.
